摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collision reinforcing member for a vehicle in which cross section collapse is less likely to occur when a collision load is inputted while achieving excellent energy absorption performance at the time of collision. SOLUTION: The open section type collision reinforcing member is provided with a pair of first folding reinforcing parts 20 at both width ends of a center plate part 11. Each first folding reinforcing part 20 has an outside connection end 21 connected to the center plate part 11, an inner connection end 22 continuous with a front end part 12a of a web part through a second folding reinforcing part 30, and a folding end 23 located roughly at a similar distance from the outside and the inside connection ends. It is thus formed as a metal plate part of a double-layered structure that is folded at the folding end 23 where both of the outside and the inside connection ends adjoin each other. The pair of the first folding reinforcing parts 20 are folded to the center plate part 11 in such a way as to get in contact with the outside surface side of the front end part 12a of the corresponding web part.
