PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a puncture adapter for an ultrasonic probe which prevents flowing of electric current from the puncture adapter to a subject even when a damage, such as exfoliation of a covering, is generated in an ablation puncture needle. SOLUTION: The puncture adapter comprises an insulating puncture needle holder 4 having a groove for supporting a puncture needle, a metal base 3 to which a member for adjusting the posture of the puncture needle holder 4 is connected, an attaching member 7 having a flange with a surface facing the base 3 and attached detachably to the base 3, and a connecting member 6 which is arranged between the base 3 and the surface of the flange of the attaching member 7 facing the base 3 and faces the inner wall of a concave part 5 formed in the puncture needle holder 4. In the puncture adapter, electric current is prevented from flowing into the subject, and durability of the puncture needle holder 4 is improved by conferring insulating property to the puncture needle holder 4.
