Disclosed are a crystalline norbornene monomer ring-opening polymer hydride additive and a molded article obtained by molding the same, wherein the crystalline norbornene monomer ring-opening polymer hydride additive has a melting point of 110-145°C and a branching index of 0.3-0.98. The crystalline norbornene monomer ring-opening polymer hydride additive is obtained by, in the presence of a branching agent, taking a ring-opening polymer obtained through ring-polymerization of a norbornene monomer consisting of 90-100 mass% 2-norbornene and 10-0 mass% 2-norbornene containing no aliphatic carbon-carbon double bonds, and hydrogenizing 80% or more of the carbon-carbon double bond. The invention provides a crystalline norbornene monomer ring-opening polymer hydride additive with excellent industrial productivity, and a molded article of same with excellent productivity and moisture resistance.
