Metal powder profile rolling - using excess width powder feed and rolls

When producing metal section by powder rolling, in which metal powder is fed into a roll gap, the gap in which the powder is poured is wider than the eventual product. The height of the sideways extension grooves are pref. 0.5 - 0.8 and the width pref. between 1 and 2 of the average thickness of the rolled product. The powder fed into these grooves exerts a sideways pressure on the profile being produced strengthening its edges.
