<p>The coolant flow is regulated by means of a control valve, which is activated by a controller, acting in response to temp. measuring probe signals fitted in the mould near the casting contour. Pref. the action of the on-off control valve is supplemented by a throttle valve fitted in parallel. Also, several separately controlled coolant circuits may be provided. The method ensures uniform metallurgical properties of the castings as a result of their constant cooling characteristics.</p> |
