<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily display a panoramic image obtained by developing a circular or annular omni-directional image. <P>SOLUTION: A development processing section develops a circular or annular omni-directional image into a panoramic image. A division processing section divides the panoramic image in such a way that divided images are placed side by side in a lengthwise direction. An aspect ratio conversion section converts each of the divided images into an image of a desired aspect ratio such as an image of an aspect ratio of television broadcast standards, for example. A coding section performs compression-coding upon each image data of the image having the desired aspect ratio. Even without using a display device of an aspect ratio equal to the panoramic image, the panoramic image can be easily displayed utilizing the display device of the desired aspect ratio. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
