<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a failure causing damage by the swift contact of inflation gas blown out of a gas blowout part with a partition part by using a simple retainer configuration without using additional members. <P>SOLUTION: This airbag device for a side collision is provided with an inflator 41, a retainer 42 and an airbag 20. An inner space of the airbag 20 is partitioned into a hip protection chamber and a chest protection chamber 29 by the partition part 25. The gas blowout part 45 of the inflator 41 and an opening 49 of the retainer 42 are arranged between a fixation end 20A of the airbag 20 and an end (connection part 27) on a fixation end side of the partition part 25. A portion different from the opening 49 in the circumferential direction on a wall 47 of the retainer 42 is used as a barrier 50 for blocking the passage of the inflation gas G to the partition part 25 side, and the barrier 50 is arranged between the gas blowout part 45 and the connection part 27. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
