<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner and an image forming apparatus in which a distance between image carriers can be easily shortened and the apparatus can be made compact. <P>SOLUTION: First and second optical scanning units 31, 41 emitting light beams to a plurality of photoreceptors 7 disposed in an array in a laser printer 1 are superposed in this order in an approximately perpendicular direction with respect to a plane along which the photoreceptors 7 are arranged, and the scanning units are arranged to give such a positional relation that directions of beams from the respective polygon mirrors 36, 46 are opposed to each other. Reflection mirrors 48a to 48d of the second optical scanning unit 41 are disposed in such a manner that beams L3, L4 reflected by the reflection mirrors 48a to 48d intersect either between the polygon mirror 36 and a scanning lens 37 in the first scanning unit 31 or between the scanning lens 37 and the reflection mirror 38b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
