<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for treating the probe patency of foramen ovale. <P>SOLUTION: This apparatus 200 for treating the probe patency of foramen ovale of the heart is equipped with a catheter device 210, at least one tissue apposition member 212, at least one energy transmitting member 214, a guide member 220, and an expandable member 222. In this case, on the catheter device 210, the proximal end and the distal end are installed. The tissue apposition member 212 is located to be adjacent to the distal end of the catheter device 210, and at least partially appositions the tissue. The energy transmitting member 214 is located to be adjacent to the tissue apposition member 212, and substantially closes the probe patency of foramen ovale by supplying the energy to the tissue being adjacent to the probe patency of foramen ovale, or by removing the energy from the tissue. The guide member 220 guides the catheter device in such a manner that the guide member 220 is inserted in the catheter device 210 and advances by preceding the catheter device 210 so that the catheter device 210 can be freely slidable. The expandable member 222 is installed on the guide member 220, and supplies a force in the lateral direction to the tissue being adjacent to the probe patency of foramen ovale by expanding sideways to the longitudinal direction of the guide member 220. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
