<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a worm-rack type power transmission device which has a strong transmission force, least friction loss, and high transmission efficiency, makes a linear drive with a high moving accuracy, has a self-locking property, and provides a long driving. <P>SOLUTION: A curved side portion 6 is provided on rack teeth 2a in a manner to form a part of an ellipsoidal surface E and twisted by a changing rate of a torsional manner a toothed streak 5. The worm gear 3 brings the toothed streak 5 into engagement with each curved side portion 6 in a line-to-line contact, enabling to a self-locking property and strengthening a transmission power to ensure a high transmission efficiency with a least friction loss so as to make a linear drive in an extended distance travel with a high moving accuracy. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
