PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly adjust a white balance by generating an image having a color component whose condition is almost the same as a sensor output. SOLUTION: An image processing method is characterized by a first color gradation conversion step for performing a first color gradation conversion process that is a reverse conversion process of a color gradation conversion process for development to an image data obtained by developing an original image data; a conversion information generation step for generating first color gradation conversion information used in the first color gradation conversion step from a sample color group before color gradation conversion and a sample color group after color gradation conversion obtained by performing the color gradation conversion process that is substantially equal to the color gradation conversion process for development to the sample group before color gradation conversion; a white balance adjustment step for performing a white balance correction at the time of development to the image data after the first color gradation conversion step; and a second color gradation conversion step for performing a second color gradation conversion process that is a reverse conversion process of the first color gradation conversion process to the image data after the white balance adjustment step.
