PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for monitoring a bedridden care-needing person who is bedridden and needs nursing care, enabling a caregiver to rapidly detect a physical condition change of the bedridden care-needing person and take rapid and appropriate nursing care measures in cooperation with medical and nursing care-specialized institutions while regularly monitoring the bedridden care-needing person from a remote position without giving a sense of uneasiness or strain related to privacy or a sense of restraint or incompatibility related to physical motion to the bedridden care-needing person, or needing a monitoring device using a high level image processing technique, or needing a high-level image identification skill for the caregiver. SOLUTION: A head position distribution pressure caused on a pillow by the head weight of the bedridden care-needing person is automatically measured by a distribution pressure sensor sheet, a head position distribution pressure pattern generated based on the head position distribution pressure measurement data is compared with a reference head position pattern to determine an abnormal head position of the person, and the determination of the abnormal head position is alarmed and displayed in the remote place. The caregiver detects a physical condition change of the person from the alarm and display, and takes rapid and appropriate care measures in cooperation with the medical and nursing care-specialized institutions.
