PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an OS image reducing method for properly reducing an OS size. SOLUTION: An OS image reducing method includes: an execution history management process that operates a predetermined application program on the computer for a predetermined time and manages the execution history of a function by monitoring the function executed during the operation of the application program; a retention function management process that refers to the execution history managed by the execution history management process and manages the function existing in the execution history as a retention function among functions included in the OS image; and an unused function processing process that performs processing to delete a function not managed by the retention function management process from the OS image, as an unused function among the functions included in the OS image.
