<p>Continuous casting of a metal bar or plate consisting of feeding the metal sideways from a source of molten metal into a closed end mould which is cooled and which is pulled away at a speed which corresponds to the casting speed so that a solidified sheel with a molten core is formed permitting the molten metal to flow during the casting operation in the direction of the closed mould, solidification of the core only taking place after completion of the casting operation. The process is intended for steel casting.</p> |
