The device has an insert (14) with a profile in flexible elastomer material forming a U-shaped clip to cover and crimp a sheet (4) of thickness lesser than thickness of remaining parts of the sheet for mounting a joint by crimping. The joint crimps and covers each insert already mounted at a place. The insert has lips projected from a groove (15) of the profile and permits locking of the insert on place of the sheet having less thickness.
