An apparatus and a method for revising a halftoning image, and an image forming device using the same are provided to express a boundary region smoothly while maintaining an internal area of an image by adding a dot to a screening image according to the number of white pixels in the area adjacent to an edge pixel. A halftoning compensation apparatus(100) includes a screening unit(110) and a compensation unit(120). The compensation unit comprises an edge decision unit(121), a filter unit(122) and a controller(123). The screening unit performs the screening of an input image, and the compensation unit detects an edge pixel of the input image. According to the number of white pixels adjacent to the detected edge pixel, the compensation unit adds the dot to the pixel location.
