The method involves receiving a flow enriched in carbon dioxide (6) from an absorption unit (3) containing 40 to 95 percentage of carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide is sent towards a gas homogenization unit (17) for attenuating a cyclic variation of pressure, flow and/or gas composition and is subjected to an intermediate compression stage (7) before the entry of the carbon dioxide in a cryogenic unit (9). An independent claim is also included for an integrated installation for the production of carbon dioxide from a gas supply containing carbon dioxide.
