An apparatus for searching the Internet by using the information obtained from the sound and method therefor are provided to supply the information through a microphone, a radio or a phone. A recognition unit(200) compares a received voice signal with preset data through a voice signal input unit(100), and extracts the comparison results in the words of text form according to the recognition reliability. A keyword extractor(300) adds the extracted words and the similar words, and judges the conformity from a search portal history. Based on the conformity, the search extractor extracts keywords. An internet search engine unit(400) performs the internet search through the extracted keywords.
