An improved, removable and adjustable arch wire is presented, in particular a transpalatal arch (TPA) wire, capable of accurately transmitting correctional forces to a pair of brackets mounted as opposing molars. The transpalatal arch (TPA) wire comprises of a heavy orthodontic wire, which can be attached to molar tubes. The wire has a loop immediately adjacent to the molar tubes. The presence af these loops facilitates placement, removal and adjustment of the appliance. Furthermore these loops reduce the force/deflection value af the appliance, which reduces the risk of root resorption. Additionally the arch can be used as a lower lingual archwire (LLA). an the TPA and LLA, mounting brackets (MB) rail fitting the ioops can be mounted. The MB can be used for multiple purposes.
