摘要 FIELD: medicine. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention refers to laboratory diagnostics in traumatology, and describes a non-invasive method for assessing early posttraumatic water-salt metabolism in the patients with closed extremity fractures involving evaluating sodium and potassium ions, wherein the concentration of sodium and potassium ions is determined in mixed saliva collected from the patients with closed extremity fractures on the third posttraumatic day; it is followed by calculation the relation of the concentration of sodium ions to the concentration of potassium ions, and if observing the derived relation exceeding 5, disorder of water-salt metabolism is stated, while no disorders of water-salt metabolism in the patient are shown by the calculated values less than 5. ^ EFFECT: method is easy-to-implement and enables assessing early posttraumatic water-salt metabolism in the patients with closed extremity fractures. ^ 2 ex
