FIELD: metallurgy. ^ SUBSTANCE: diaphragm of electrolysis unit includes at least two plates (1) with openings (2), which are made from insulating material and installed vertically with a gap between them. Holes (2) are made in plates with downward inclination from sides of polarised electrodes. ^ EFFECT: reduction of electric losses in electrolysis unit owing to reducing the inner resistance of diaphragm; achievement of high degree of gas separation irrespective of electrolysis process speed. ^ 1 dwg
