<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyvinyl alcohol-based polymer film having a small dimensional change when swelled, and to provide a method for producing the polyvinyl alcohol-based polymer film and a method for producing a polarizing film by using the polyvinyl alcohol-based polymer film. <P>SOLUTION: The polyvinyl alcohol-based polymer film includes air bubbles each having 0.5-0.9 μm diameter by ≥1.0×10<SP>4</SP>pieces per 1 cm<SP>2</SP>film area. The method for producing the polyvinyl alcohol-based polymer film includes the steps of: dissolving a polyvinyl alcohol-based polymer in water including air bubbles each having 0.5-0.9 μm diameter; preparing a film-forming stock solution including air bubbles each having 0.5-0.9 μm diameter by ≥1.0×10<SP>5</SP>pieces per 1 cm<SP>3</SP>; and forming the polyvinyl alcohol-based polymer film by using the film-forming stock solution.
