PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terminal device which uses a USB device connected to an external device, and a USB device control method therefor. SOLUTION: The terminal device connected to the external device includes: an interface unit which is connected to the external device through a communication interface including a data channel; a communication unit which transmits, when a connecting state of the external device with the USB device is reported through the interface unit, a query for requesting the external device to use the USB device; a storage unit which stores USB device information transmitted from the external device in response to the query; and a control unit which executes a driver program corresponding to the stored USB device information to access the USB device through the data channel.
