PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation position detector with a simple structure using at least a pair of rotors, and to provide a stator winding of a protruding teeth provided along an axial direction. SOLUTION: The rotation position detector includes a multistage rotor (8) constituted of a pair of rotors (8a, 8b) rotatably provided side by side in an axial direction (A); a stator (1) fixed at only one position through respective gaps (G<SB>1</SB>, G<SB>2</SB>), relative to the respective rotors (8a, 8b) and on the outer-periphery side; and first and second protruding teeth (1a, 1b), provided on the stator (1) and having stator windings (12, 13). Outer-peripheral surfaces (8aA, 8bA) of the respective rotors (8a, 8b) are structured so that the gaps (G<SB>1</SB>, G<SB>2</SB>) between respective protruding teeth (1a, 1b) are different from each other at the same rotational angle position.
