PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball screw device having reduced mass for allowing fastening work without imposing a burden to a screw shaft even under such constrained environment that work using a tool can be only done on the upper end side of the screw shaft. SOLUTION: The hollow-shaped screw shaft 2 has a female screw portion 11 formed on the inner peripheral face at the lower end. A solid rod 7 has a male screw portion 14 formed on an abutting portion 13, to be screwed to the female screw portion 11 of the screw shaft 2. In the male screw portion 14 of the rod 7, a tool engaging hole 15 is formed. A long fastening tool 16 having an engaging portion 17 at the front end is used to be inserted through the upper end side of the screw shaft 2 into the screw shaft 2 and suitable for the tool engaging hole 15 of the rod 7 for fastening the screw shaft 2 to the rod 7 with the rotation of the rod 7.
