摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To monitor an absolute charge to a mass ratio of a toner in an image forming device during normal operation. SOLUTION: A method for monitoring the absolute charge to the mass ratio of the toner in the image forming device includes steps for: obtaining the dielectric length of a photoconductor layer; forming latent charge images on a surface of the photoconductor layer; measuring the first surface potential of the latent charge image on the surface of the photoconductor layer; forming a toner image on the photoconductor layer by developing the latent charge image by the toner; measuring second surface potential on a surface of the toner image of the photoconductor layer; measuring a mass per unit area of the toner which forms the toner image on the photoconductor layer; calculating the absolute charge to the mass ratio of the toner based on the dielectric length of the photoconductor layer, the first surface potential, the second surface potential, and the mass per unit area of toner which forms the toner image on the photoconductor layer; and warning when the absolute charge to mass ratio of the toner is out of a first predetermined range.
