PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pulse arc welding method and a welding apparatus which can weld even a narrow portion without any difficulty. SOLUTION: The pulse arc welding apparatus includes a non-consumable electrode 1, a wire feeder 5 which feeds a filler wire 2 parallel or nearly parallel to the non-consumable electrode, an arc current source 4 which applies an arc current to the non-consumable electrode, and a master control unit 9 which controls the arc current source and the wire feeder. The master control unit applies a base current and the arc current to the non-consumable electrode alternately and controls the filler wire to be fed when the base current is applied.
