PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for predicting medicinal effects of a human type anti-TNFα antibody medicine on rheumatoid arthritis in which effectiveness of human type anti-TNFα antibody medicine to rheumatoid arthritis is predicted in high certainty and simply, activity of rheumatoid arthritis after administration of the medicine is predicted and useless side effects are avoided by administration of the medicine in a case in which the medicine is effective in more certainty, and to provide an apparatus for predicting medicinal effects. SOLUTION: The method for predicting medicinal effects of human type anti-TNFα antibody medicine on rheumatoid arthritis includes a step for measuring the content of at least any of ADAMTS4 and ADAMTS5 in a sample derived from a specimen and a step for evaluating whether a human type anti-TNFα antibody medicine is effective to rheumatoid arthritis using the content of at least any of the ADAMTS4 and the ADAMTS5 as an index.
