PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soot and dust concentration monitoring system easily monitoring a soot and dust concentration regardless of coal types. SOLUTION: The soot and dust concentration monitoring system includes: a coal combustion facility; a coal supply facility; an exhaust gas flow path; a soot and dust removing device removing soot and dust included in exhaust gas; an exhaust gas amount detection device 21 detecting the amount of exhaust gas flowing in the exhaust gas flow path; a total soot and dust amount calculation part 27 calculating total soot and dust amount; a dropping soot and dust amount calculation part 28 calculating dropping soot and dust amount; a removed soot and dust amount calculation part 29 calculating removed soot and dust amount by the soot and dust removing device (electric dust precipitator 15 and a desulfurizer 16); a remaining soot and dust amount calculation part 31 calculating remaining soot and dust amount; a soot and dust concentration calculation part 32 calculating the soot and dust concentration of the exhaust gas flowing in the exhaust gas flow path by dividing the remaining soot and dust amount by the exhaust gas amount; and a display device 22 displaying the calculated soot and dust concentration.
