PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a voltage of a smoothing capacitor quickly, while suppressing a large current that flows into a switching element of a boosting converter or the like, when the voltage of the smoothing capacitor arranged on the side of electrical equipment is higher than a voltage of the boosting converter. SOLUTION: A power supply apparatus includes a control means: for controlling a lower arm to be powered off, when a voltage of high voltage series is higher than a predetermined voltage; and for controlling an upper arm to be powered on and off by using an on-time, which is a time from when an upper arm is powered off until when a reactor current IL becomes zero (zero reaching time), set up to be equal to an off-time of the upper arm.
