PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a builtup steel pipe strut, which is easily built up and constructed even in a mountainous region and in a narrow ground, and has excellent appearance when built up. SOLUTION: This builtup steel pipe strut 10 is formed by jointing a plurality of short steel pipes 14 to each other. The short steel pipe 14 includes: a seam tapered part 22 provided on the tip side of a tubular steel pipe body 20; a tubular steel pipe fit-in part 24 provided at the tip of the seam tapered part 22 and having an outside diameter substantially equal to the inside diameter of the rear end part of another short steel pipe 14; and a tapered tip part 26 provided at the tip of the steel pipe fit-in part 24. The steel pipe fit-in part 24 is provided with a bolt fixing part 28 including a bolt penetrating hole 28a and a nut 28b fitted into the inner surface side thereof. The rear end part of the short steel pipe 14 is provided with a bolt penetrating elongate hole 32, with which a bolt 36 engages, which is located at a position corresponding to the bolt penetrating hole 28a of the fitted steel pipe fit-in part 24, with the lower end position thereof coinciding with the lower end position of the bolt penetrating hole 28a, and extends upward.
