PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cultivating plants including effectively supplementing light in a method for cultivating rosaceae plants specifically in a rose-arching cultivation method. SOLUTION: The method for cultivating plants includes irradiating rosaceae plants with light using as a light source a red light-emitting diode which has a light emission peak at 660 nm±10 nm and whose light emission output at the driving current of 20 mA is≥5 mW. In the initial stage of cultivation of roses, only flower buds on a firstly growing branch 2 are picked up, and the branch 2 is artificially bent in the vicinity of a stock base 1 to be maintained in a laid-flat condition to grow a basal shoot germinating near the stock base 1 as the branch 2, wherein a red LED panel is set up near the stock base 1 and is irradiated with the light whose light source is the red light-emitting diode having a light emission peak at 660 nm±10 nm and the light emission output of≥5 mW, preferably≥10 mW at the driving current of 20 mA.
