The fuel pump (1) has a housing (2) which is manufactured from a plastic, where the plastic has a partial transparency for a spectrum of laser beams. The plastic is made of polyamide. A unit (12) is formed at the housing for holding the fuel pump. The housing has two housing components which are connected with each other by laser welding.
