<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting device for a vehicle miniaturizable even if the device is used for both a winker and a position lamp. <P>SOLUTION: In Fig.(a), a flashing control means is stopped and a continuous lighting control means is operated based on the information that a time reaches a point c, and as shown in Fig.(b), a continuous lighting is performed. The continuous lighting is performed at 8 V. The output of the lighting device is determined by the product of the current and the voltage. When the current is constant, and the voltage during the flashing is 12 V and the voltage during the continuous lighting is 8 V, the output during the continuous lighting is 8/12=66.7%. Since a heating amount is proportional to the output, the heating is suppressed to 66.7% during the continuous lighting, and the rise of the temperature of the lighting device can be suppressed.
