Si-Fe BASED COMPOSITE OXIDE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel metal oxide catalyst with improved catalytic activity and a method for manufacturing the same.

SOLUTION: The composite oxide is a Si-Fe composite oxide containing Si and Fe and having an oxidation catalyst action, in which a grain size of a primary particle containing Fe is not more than 100 nm and an aspect ratio is not more than 2.0. The method for manufacturing the same includes: a slurry formation process for blending calcium hydroxide, silica and nitric acid iron and adding pure water for contamination and slurry formation; a hydrothermal treatment process for hydrothermally treating the formed slurry; a filtration and washing a process for filtrating and washing composite after the hydrothermal treatment; a drying process for drying the composite after filtration and washing; and a firing process for firing the composite after the drying.
