PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating circulation water in a coating booth utilizing a microorganism which can treat not only circulation water in a coating booth including a water base coating material but also circulation water in a coating booth including a solvent base coating material, in which there is no need of specially adding a flocculant (non-tackiness-reduction agent) to the circulation water in the coating booth when the circulation water in the coating booth including a solvent base coating material is treated. SOLUTION: A microorganism decomposing an organic matter component comprised in a coating material, which forms a bio-surfactant is added to circulation water in a coating booth.
