PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas barrier film which exhibits excellent gas barrier properties even after lapse of long time. SOLUTION: This gas barrier film is made up of a polyester based resin base 1, an organic compound layer 2 formed on the polyester based resin base 1 and an inorganic compound layer 3 formed on the organic compound layer 2. The organic compound layer 2 is a layer obtained by polymerizing a polymerizable compound containing a polyester-based oligomer, with a polymerization initiator composed of a hydroxyketone-based oligomer.
