PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polyimide film having three-dimensionally regularly arranged continuous micropores in good repeatability. SOLUTION: The method for producing a porous polyimide includes a porous silica mold production step for filling silica particles and sintering to give porous silica mold, a polyimide filling step for filling a polyimide to voids of the porous silica mold obtained by the porous silica mold production step and a silica removal step for removing silica from the polyimide filled porous silica mold to give a porous polyimide. The obtained porous polyimide film is a film-like porous polyimide having a three-dimensionally regularly arranged micropores. The void ratio of the film is≥70%, the average diameter of the micropores is 100-2,000 nm, the micropores are contacted with each other to form communicating holes and the diameters of the communicating holes are≤1,000 nm.
