PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a time before a magnetron oscillates at the time of starting the magnetron. SOLUTION: The high frequency heating device is provided with an inverter power source 30 which supplies power supply for generating a high frequency output established by an input means 5 to a magnetron 31, and the inverter power source 30 is provided with an inverter circuit 48 consisting of a step-up transformer 46 and a switching element 44, a double voltage circuit 47 which voltage-doubler rectifies a voltage generated in a secondary side coil 46b of the step-up transformer 46, and a control circuit 50 which has an input current detecting circuit 52 to detect the current flowing into the inverter circuit 48 and a control means 53 to output a data signal for deciding the On time of the switching element 44 based on the detection value of the input current detecting circuit 52. The control means 53 transmits the data signal that has decided the On time of the switching element 44 so that the output voltage of the double voltage circuit 47 may be a rated voltage or less of a high-voltage diode 47b constituting the double voltage circuit 47 at the time of starting the magnetron 31.
