PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving support device for smoothing traffic flow. SOLUTION: The driving support device 1 includes: a traffic-light information acquisition means 41 acquiring traffic-light information at an intersection with a traffic light that exists on a road on which a vehicle travels; an other-vehicle detection means 51 detecting the other vehicle which is entering the road on which the vehicle is traveling, in front of the vehicle; a first distance detection means 21 detecting a distance from the position where the other vehicle enters the road to the intersection with the traffic-light; and a determination means 24 determining whether the other vehicle is allowed to enter the road before the vehicle passes it when the vehicle reaches the entering position, based on the traffic-light information and the distance from the entering position to the intersection with the traffic-light. Therefore, the other vehicle can enter the road in proper timing without waiting for vehicles traveling on the road to come close to a proper inter-vehicle distance, and smooth traffic flow can be achieved.
