PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a downsized optical scanner. SOLUTION: A substrate 25A for vertically partitioning the inside of a housing 25 is formed in the housing 25 of the optical scanner 13. A polygon mirror 26, first imaging lens 31 and 41, and first reflection mirrors 32 and 42 are arranged on one surface of the substrate 25A in the traveling direction of a light beam. Second reflection mirrors 33 and 43, second imaging lens 34 and 44, and third reflection mirrors 35 and 45 are arranged on the other surface of the substrate 25A in the traveling direction of the light beam. First openings 36 and 46 are formed on the optical path for connecting the third reflection mirrors 35 and 45 of the substrate 25A to photoreceptor drums (photoreceptors) 2a and 2b and between the first imaging lens 31 and 41 and the first reflection mirrors 32 and 42. Second openings 37 and 47 are formed on the optical path for connecting the first reflection mirrors 32 and 42 of the substrate 25A to the second reflection mirrors 33 and 43 thereof.
