PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the time/effort and cost of an operation for making a pixel, in which a bright spot defect is caused, inconspicuous in a liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes: a liquid crystal panel 2; a backlight 6 irradiating the liquid crystal display panel 2 with light from the rear surface side thereof and constituted of an LED panel; a control part controlling luminance of each of LEDs 63 of the LED panel in a predetermined set value; and an input I/F part in which position information of a pixel 21a in which the bright spot defect is generated is input. The control part specifies an LED 63a existing in a rear surface direction of the pixel 21a having the bright spot defect based on input information in the input I/F part and reduces the luminance of the LED 63a from the set value to the lower limit value. Thereby, the luminance of the pixel 21a of the bright spot defect is reduced. The pixel 21a of the bright spot defect can be made inconspicuous by only information input operation to the input I/F part and time and effort of operation is reduced. Special processing to the liquid crystal panel 2 for making the pixel 21a of the bright spot defect inconspicuous is not needed and thereby cost of operation can be suppressed.
