The device has a chuck jaw (400) with a contact surface (405) and a mounting hole (410) for clamping a pipe (300) at its end, and a deformation tool (50) with a base support (100). A calibration case (140) for receiving another end (305) of the pipe is employed to the contact surface of a chuck jaw. A compression spring (150) is arranged between the base support and the calibration case. An independent claim is also included for a method for increase of wall thickness on end of pipe.
