The rotor (4) has a rotor body (24), permanent magnets (15), and two counterbalancing disks (6) provided with a fastening device for a counterbalancing body (7) for balancing the rotor. The fastening device is designed as recesses e.g. axial boreholes and annular groove. The counterbalancing body is fastened to the counterbalancing disks by the fastening device. The counterbalancing disks are made of aluminum or plastic. The permanent magnets are directly or indirectly fixed in an axial direction of the disks. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for counterbalancing a rotor (2) a method for manufacturing a rotor (3) an electric machine having a rotor.
