Dyeing wool-contg. textiles with reactive organic dyes contg. at least one gp. capable of reacting with SH-gp. of cysteine takes place in presence of levelling agents of formula: R-(X-S-SO3M)n (I) (where R is 2-20C alkyl or alkenyl, aralkyl or aryl, opt. substd. by halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, nitro, carboxyl or sulphonamide gps.; X is a covalent bond, a carbonamidoalkylene- or sulphonamide-alkylene bridge member; M is alkali metal atom and n is 1 or 2).
