<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium secondary battery with a large capacity and a high power, applicable for next generation clean energy vehicles such as a fuel cell vehicle, a plug-in hybrid vehicle or the like. <P>SOLUTION: The lithium secondary battery includes a cathode capable of storing and releasing lithium, an anode capable of storing and releasing lithium, a nonaqueous electrolyte solution containing lithium salt, and a separator interposed between the cathode and the anode.
