PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-function machine 100 which, when performing printing per the number of copies, allows the standby time thereof from the finish of the output of a predetermined copy of printed matter to the start of the output of a subsequent copy of the printed matter to be set appropriately, according to the time required for a post-processing performed by a user. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes an instruction-receiving means 510, which upon the receipt of instruction to print a plurality of copies of the printed matter, receives a starting instruction for outputting the subsequent copy of the printed matter or a restarting instruction for outputting of the subsequent copy of the printed matter, when outputting of the subsequent copy of the printed matter is temporarily stopped, after the outputting of the predetermined copy of the printed matter is finished, and transmits the starting instruction or the restarting instruction to a drive means; and a standby time changing means 511 which upon reception of the start instruction, causes a standby time storage means 509 to store as a new standby time, the time starting from the time at which the outputting of the predetermined copy of the printed matter is finished, to the point of time at which the starting instruction is received; and upon the receipt of the restarting instruction, makes the standby time storage means 509 store the time, from the point of time at which the outputting of the predetermined copy of the printed matter is finished to the time at which the restarting instruction is received.
