PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning device, whose cost and size can be reduced and which prevents degradation of application performance even when an amount of residual toner is increased. SOLUTION: The cleaning device includes: a solid lubricant 3b that is applied to a photoreceptor 1 rotated and driven and decreases the frictional coefficient of the photoreceptor 1; an application roller 3a for applying the solid lubricant 3b to the image carrier; a cleaning blade for removing residual transfer toner on the photoreceptor 1; a toner conveying coil for conveying waste toner, removed by the cleaning blade, to a storage portion. In the cleaning device, the toner conveying a coil is disposed upstream of the cleaning blade in the rotating direction of the photoreceptor 1, the toner conveying coil is disposed downstream of the application roller 3a, and a control means is provided downstream of the application roller 3a for controlling, based on image forming information for forming a latent image on the photoreceptor 1, an amount of waste toner conveyed by a conveying means.
