PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide equipment management system that can be updated in a lump without being aware of an updating procedure or a configuration difference, in the update of the software of an application operating on equipment, equipment managing apparatus, equipment to be managed, a software updating method, a software updating program, and a recording medium recorded with the program. SOLUTION: The equipment management system 1 includes one or a plurality of pieces of equipment 200 to be managed and equipment managing apparatus 100 holding update data 31D (archive data) in a predetermined storage region. The equipment managing apparatus 100 determines whether or not the update data 31D exist, and based on the determination result, sends the update data 31D to the equipment 200 to be managed. The equipment 200 to be managed expands the received update data 31D temporarily, and determines whether or not an application AP can be updated based on the determination result, the expanded module data MD (update program) is delivered to the application AP, and the update of the software is requested.
