PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To advantageously perform power generation using the heat of a heat generation source and cooling of the heat generation source, in terms of efficiency. SOLUTION: The power generation method, using the heat of a heat generation source has a first step for raising the temperature of one surface of a thermoelectric conversion element 13, by transferring the heat of a heat generating source 11 to the one surface through a loop heat pipe 12; a second step in which working fluid is placed in a low-temperature state, after the temperature of the one surface 13a of the thermoelectric conversion element 13 is raised; and subsequently heat is transferred to the other surface 13b of the thermoelectric conversion element 13 to make the other surface cool, and a third step of returning the working fluid, after cooling to the heat generation source 11.
